does it lead to relatively simple immigration (Permanent residency ) in any English speaking country?

I have valid ESTA, I am considering to file immigration petition from abroad.
Will I have problems with ESTA travel or renewal while petition will be pending (or if denied)

ESTA questionary does not ask if I have filled immigration petition or if denied , so it is irrelevant?
it only asks for visa denial not i140 denial
border person may still see and ask about it?
