LPT: When you're driving for a long distance, fold a towel and place it on your lower back

It makes you feel way more comfortable as it helps create a spine S shape and avoids the unhealthy C one (typical for car seats).

This also comes handy if you're doing laptop work in your car for a couple of hours.

You don't need to invest in a fancy lumbar support. A towel is more than good enough =D

LPT: When you withdraw money from an ATM abroad, always choose "Withdraw without conversion"

Always let your own bank handle the conversion for you at the market fair exchange rate.

You might be lured into thinking that accepting the conversion is "safer" as it gives you a better visibility in advance on how much you will be charged, but you end up ALWAYS getting a horrible exchange rate + "hidden fees". It's NEVER a good deal.

I learned that the HARD way! Don't =D

I remember once I was hiking on a trip when I came across a street vendor who was selling fresh orange juice.

I was quite thirsty and it was cheap so I went for it. It turned out to be one of the best orange juices I've ever had.

I instantly told him that I really loved it and SINCERELY congratulated him for the quality of his product.

To my surprise, he peeled a few more oranges before telling me, “This extra glass is for free from my heart, and thanks for your words”.

This wasn't the first time such a thing happened to me! A genuine sincere compliment can make wonders, no joke! The key part is I really expected NOTHING in exchange when I complimented him.

Drop your stories =D
