Goldsmid ward is the area between Brunswick and Hove Park, including Hove Station and St Anne's Well Garden within it. Goldsmid normally elects 3 Councillors who will all be up for election in May 2027. It is considered a marginal seat and it elected 1 Green & 2 Labour Councillors between 2015 and 2023 then Labour won all 3 in 2023. One of those Labour Councillors, former Mayor Jacqueline O'Quinn resigned from Labour over the national direction of the part. She then left the council after a brief stint as an Independent. This will be the 7th by-election triggered by a Labour Councillor in the city since 2023. Please register to vote if you live in the area, the election date should be announced soon so should be a bit more than 6 weeks away.
