Hi, I want some buying advice. I'm looking to buy a mac for my mom, she's a very casual user, web browsing, canva, whatsapp opened while searching in chrome, but she also uses capcut for editing her short-form videos.

At first I thought about buying her the new macbook neo, but I came across a very interesting offer:

M2 Air

- classic 13 inches

- in excellent state they say

- battery aparently at 100% health

- 8gb ram and 256gb of storage

- midnight

The price is $580, it seems like a good deal. But the only 2 concerns I have is:

- The 8gb of ram

- The 13 inch screen (she has delicated eyes so I don't want her to have eye strain all day)

About the ram, she is not the type of person to have 10 things opened at the same time, but if she edits in capcut I don't know if it would be able handle it. She doesn't edit 4k, nor hour long videos, only 1080p 1-2 minute long videos with not too many effects besides captions and some transitions.

And regarding the screen, I've heard even though is a 13 inch screen, it has a high quality retina display, she is not the type of person to have her screen split to see multiple apps at once, so I'm not worried about the screen real estate, if the retina display is good enough to make small text easily readable then it's perfect.

So if someone can tell me if I should give it a shot it would be much appreciated.

I'm in latinamerica so devices here normally tend to be pricier than in us, and yes in case you're wondering the seller has good reputation and is an official apple repair center.
