Plugin Solar In California

So there is a bill to legalize plugin solar in California that isn't in effect yet, but there are companies in California that are already selling plugin solar kits for Californians. ChatGPT says it's in a legal gray area.

My housemate owns the house I live in, and she already has solar installed on her roof. We seem to be using a bit more electricity than we're generating, and I think it might be a good idea to add a bit more. I don't want her to lose nem 2, of course.

I don't know anything about the rules and regulations regarding solar, but what do you guys think? Do I need to wait for the bill to fully legalize it? Is it ok to do now?

Also, what are some good, but not overly expensive, ground mounts for panels in an area that can be very windy? It doesn't happen that often, but sometimes the wind around here can be absolutely wicked. I found some 590 watt qcells going for only $175 each, which I think is a good deal? I figure I might want 3. As long as the inverter stays at 1kw output, and below, I won't mess up my housemate's nem 2 status, correct?

Any knowledgeable input here is welcome. I don't even know what I don't know, and I'm sure it's a lot.

Thanks!

Looking for advice. My doctor isn't worried. I am.

So from 2010 - 2025, my eGFR was 90+. In Jan of 2026, it was 57. Something clearly happened, and I don't know what.

In 2025, my blood pressure kept getting higher, so I made a Dr.'s appointment to get put on blood pressure meds. He said that it was borderline, and decided against putting me on meds. He told me to lose weight. I agreed to.

I've lost weight and my blood pressure is, if anything, too low now. I've also gotten a CMP two other times now, and my eGFR has risen. 57 -> 64 -> 68

I've asked, from the start, for a complete urine analysis, and my doctor hasn't done it. She thinks I'm fine. (Yes, I changed doctors) I've decided I'm just going to do it on my own. While I'm getting a complete urine analysis, is there anything else I want to test for that might explain what caused my kidney damage, or shows just how damaged my kidneys actually are?

I see people posting here about how their doctors didn't care either. It's very strange to me. My doctor didn't even tell me I had CKD with the 57. I found out by reading her notes. Do doctors not realize how dangerous CKD is? It kills more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer, FFS. I've asked for help with it on AskDocs twice now, and they've not responded either. I don't understand why doctors are like this. Certainly they'd tell me if I had cancer, but they don't even bother to tell me my eGFR is 57. On the plus side, at least, my eGFR is going up for now. I'm hopeful I won't have a lot of protein in my urine.

What do you guys recommend? I see that I want mainly plant-based protein , I can't take NSAIDs, I have to limit my sodium. What else do I need to avoid to prevent further damage?

Thanks for your input.

So I want to add more solar. My housemate already has solar on nem 2, and I don't want to mess that up. It sounds like, just as long as I don't add more than 1kw, I won't?

Also, when a solar system is 1kw, what does that mean, exactly? Is that 1kw input power to the inverter, 1kw output? How is this decided?

Anyway, the ground mounting has to be strong because the winds can get very fierce around here. No one says hurricanes strike Northern California, but it sure seems like they have. We have had entire metal buildings flying over fences, and going into the neighbor's property.

Other than that, I'm just looking for the best value setup. I'm open to all suggestions!

Thanks!
