Growing up in the 90s I think people forget how big R Kelly was. He had more top 10 hits on the hot 100 than any other male artists that decade even MJ. And he was producing a shit ton of hits as well.

I really loved when a womans fed up and if I could turn back the hands of time and I can’t sleep baby. But once all the stuff came out with him and the tape I couldn’t listen to his shit anymore. Beforehand I liked quite a lot of his hits

Purple rain is already one of the best selling albums of all time. But it could have been even bigger.! prince notoriously released around the world in a day not even a year after purple rain in the album was released.

The thing is Prince released. Take me with you late January of 1985 and then around the world the day came out in April. If they had released a music video and done all that it for sure would’ve went top 10 he probably could’ve had more hits from the album as well.

Most of the music videos, except for when doves cry were just performances from the movie. I figure if he did actual videos for other singles like I would die 4 Ai they could’ve been even bigger.
