5 years doing CRO/SEO, I started building a public teardown library of the best websites.
Every site scored on the same 8-axis rubric (SEO depth, distribution, moat, funnel, social proof, self-serve, motion, coverage).
Started with Ramp. Score: 94.
The 5 plays I analyzed:
- Multi-axis programatic SEO: 50 pages from one template for all their persona pages.
- Productized switching motion: turning the biggest objection into a workflow
- Free-tools ecosystem at scale: 20+ ungated tools as a TOFU content.
- Proprietary data: SEO moat for their Economics Labs to be perceived as a leader and get backlinks
- Partner directory as a public flywheel
Plan is to analyze the best websites across SaaS, fintech, dev tools, consumer.
Before I scale this, I'd really like feedback from this sub:
- Is the rubric the right depth, or too much?
- Are the strategic plays the part you'd actually save?
- What would make you share a teardown like this with your team?
And, what company should I score next?
