Saw this baby bird on the sidewalk, it’s mom (mockingjay) was nearby protecting it. I ended up moving it over a few inches to a grassy area because people walk their dogs and i didn’t want it to get hurt. I used a towel to move it which I left, and put a cone nearby with a note to warn others.

It looks like it has pin feathers, but I’m not expert. So would this be a nestling or fledgling? The mom is carefully watching it so I don’t think there is anything else I should do to help it. But I’m open to advice!
