Why is it this hard to switch cards or canceling your account

For more context. Ive neen a customer for 10 or more years and never had issues like this. But recently the card I had on file had insufficient funds so it paused the subscription. That makes sense to me. So I try to change my card. No option on the website. Okay ill contact customer support! Customer support says I cant manage my card or change subscription because I subscribed the iTunes so I have to cancel through them. I haven't used an apple product in many years ao I have no access to one. I log into my apple account online and it says I have zero subscriptions. I go back to customer support and they tell me I have to go to apple support. Apple support tells me I have no subscription and to go back to crunchyroll support I do so and they tell me they cant do anything since It says I subscribed through iTunes. At this point im absolutely fed up. Should I just make a new account since apparently there's NOTHING I can do?

TLDR: Crunchyroll giving me the run around and a back and forth with apple support just to change a payment method. Should I make a new account after 10 or more years of having this one?
