It’s not natural to be that close with your parents as an adult
Good parenting should promote individuation and less and less contact over time. Parents are supposed to be attuned to their kids and help kids learn to get their needs met. And as kids grow, they become more and more independent and then leave the nest.
The enmeshment into adulthood is not natural and I’m starting to view it as somewhat of a red flag if people haven’t actually separated from their parents into their adult life.
