I’m reposting this to warn other customers about my experience during a service visit in Redmond, WA.

A technician from my ISP entered my home wearing Ray-Ban camera glasses (camera-capable eyewear).

I objected after he had been in my home 10 -15 min and I saw the camera. He removed the glasses hesitantly and In asked him to put them in his pocket. He put them in his shirt pocket turned toward me. I was not comfortable continuing and ended the visit.

This interaction is documented on my home security system. I have escalated this within the company and requested formal documentation and follow-up.

In Washington, the law requires consent from all parties to record inside property and private conversations. This applies in places like a private home where there is an expectation of privacy from contractors. Because of that, the situation raised serious concerns for me and I am warning others.

Sharing so others are aware and can set clear boundaries during in-home service visits.
