Which resin or additive do you wish were available on the consumer market? - Chem eng summer project.

Hi,

I study chemical engineering and am into additive manufacturing and especially into polymers. I didn't get a summer job so I have nearly 4 months free to do as I please. I thought to spend this time in resin research.

I have a lab with the necessary tools and safety equipment, as well as training to do small scale synthesis. I can source materials as well, so there aren't any hard obstacles, other than time reading research papers.

I've got some resins in mind that I would like to play with and have deemed doable. At the moment I've been looking into:

• Magnetic -

• Electroluminescent -

• Electrically Conductive -

• Vitrimer -

• Cermamic resins

I would like to invite any suggestions on what you'd be interested in seeing available to the hobbyist. Anything that pops into your mind, doesn't have to be something that exists, doesn't have to be something you deem "realistic."

I don't expect to see high quality success, but I will document the process and write a report on the end result. Maybe I could create a hobbyist friendly workflow one could follow later.

Feel free to ask any questions about how I plan to tackle this. Thanks for reading.
