Title: Passport application marked “doubtful nationality”

I’m really confused and stressed about my passport situation, so posting here for help.
I’m originally from Shillong, but currently staying in Hyderabad for work for around 10 months now. I applied for my passport from Hyderabad, and during police verification, the officer asked for my parents’ ID proof.
After that, my application status got marked as “doubtful” under nationality, and it seems like the passport office has rejected it.
I honestly don’t understand why this happened. I’m an Indian citizen, but I think the issue might be because I’m not a permanent resident of Hyderabad and maybe I couldn’t provide enough supporting documents at the
- Why would nationality be marked as doubtful in this case?
- What documents can I submit now to fix this?
