[OC] Building a unified 3D marketplace is a nightmare, but we just hit our first major milestone for Kuro Labs

"I’ve spent the last few months architecting a transmedia engine called KuroLabs, and tonight we finally pushed the 'Unified PUID Ledger' to production.

The goal is simple: Create a marketplace where 3D assets aren't just files, but have a Permanent Universal ID (PUID) that travels across engines. We just solved a massive auth-hydration hurdle with Supabase and React Query to make the marketplace feel instant.

For the Freelancers: We're building this specifically to bridge the gap between high-fidelity creators and consistent employment. If you're tired of assets sitting in a folder, we’re building the pipeline to get them verified and into live projects.

Would love to hear from any devs who have tackled cross-engine asset verification or anyone interested in the beta.

I recently got downgraded to a 8GB ram desktop. You dont need powerful RAM to really build something great

Man these last few months have been the worst ever, And thats coming from a guy who usually has lots of bad days/months however...

Ive been the victim of a house robbery nd my entire computer setup was stolen while I attended a wedding. An AMD Ryzen 5 7600 | Maverick | 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD | RTX 5070 12GB with a lifetime of work(well cloud storage used but a lifetime of investments and upgrades). To cut the long story short I hve since been retrenched from work ( well it was contract and I failed to provide as per contract) so I was unemployed with only a few months in savings.

I couldnt really do so much as Im a programmer and I build 3D arts for gamerrs/game engines. To cut the long story short Ive been able to build this transmedia engine that generates Comics, with accurate panelling, visual and storyline consistency as well as captions that user can edit ( After AI has generaated)

I think with AI there is so much you can do with a powerfull computer however that is not the minimum requirement to relly build something good. A SaaS basically.

I dont know why I felt the need to share this but you at home feeling left out, Its never too late to get started. AI is gonna take jobs as much as its gonna create opportunities. get started bro ❤

Hey guys. I'm a solo dev, and I've spent the last few months building something because I was super frustrated with the current state of 3D marketplaces. The fees are way too high, and payouts take forever. So, I built Kuro-Labs. It’s a custom engine with an integrated marketplace. The coolest part I just finished coding is the DevEx dashboard—it lets creators run live auctions on their models and cash out directly to their bank, with way lower fees. It's still in Alpha, but the infrastructure is live. If any 3D artists want to test the upload pipeline and list some assets, let me know and I'll send you an invite
