I'm making this post to discuss of a potential transphobic situation. My gf (cis, 23), called me a hermaphrodite this morning; for context, I started T over a little month ago and obviously my body is changing, as normal. She says she calls me that "as a joke", and does not "mean to offend". She also said that I need to be less susceptible regarding the jokes she's making (such as me being looking like a "real guy"; which I've called her upon and now she stopped calling me that way). Earlier in the month, she was also worried that I might get assaulted in the street since "I look pretty much like a girl anyways".
She supports me and my transition, and I love her with all my heart, and she loves me too. I'm afraid she might be transphobic?? She says she doesn't wanna hurt me and all, but I'm a bit at a loss regarding what to do. When I call her out she always brings out the defensive or apologises profusely without much of a change sometimes.
What do you guys think?
