What is life like with a pacemaker?

I've dealt with tachycardia and AFIB my entire life. After pushing for some time, my cardiologist put in a LUX-Dx II+ ICM last year because something felt off still. When I was at Disneyland a couple weeks ago, I felt sick and left the parks early to fly back home. The next day, I got a message from the cardiologist saying the ICM detected a fairly severe block and we scheduled an appointment to discuss it.

I had the appointment yesterday, the doc showed me the event tracing, and we discussed my past cardiac history. Without going into too much detail, he needs me to get the records of an ablation I had nearly a decade ago in a different state sent over, and stated that depending on what the op notes show there is a strong possibility that I'll need a pacemaker implanted in the near future.

Can people tell me what their life has been like after getting one, how the implant procedure was, and basically help reassure me that things will be okay? The doc took a while to come over after reviewing my chart and after I was placed in a room and had vitals done, saying he was surprised that I'm only 31 and that the issues I've been having are more common in patients at least double my age.

I work as a customer service agent for a major airline. I am standing and/or walking on my feet for anywhere from 8 hours to as high as 16 hours a day. We do have anti-fatigue mats at our work stations, but they're honestly not the greatest. Given the size of the operation at my airport (some days I clear 15,000+ steps during a shift), we can wear sneakers but they must be 100% black. I currently wear some fairly basic memory foam shoes + a gel insert from Walmart, but I've noticed that lately my feet are still wrecked/sore for several hours after I get home and sit/lay down.

Can anybody recommend a shoe that would help me be on my feet and not feel absolutely wrecked after getting home from work? I wear a size 9 womens shoe, don't need wide shoes, would love a bit of cushion, and have been told that I have a bit of overpronation when getting some running shoes last year. I am an unapologetic Disney adult who uses my flight benefits to go to the Disney parks relatively often, so bonus points if the shoes would help my feet not be similarly wrecked after a full day at the parks. Would love to keep cost no more than $150, but can stretch a bit to $200 if they can last a while.
