Any Red flags I should look out for when visiting a spoo for adoption?
Hello everyone! I will be visiting a breeder that has decided to rehome her b/w parti spoo. It’s seems the dog has been bred already but is now fixed. I have owned poodles in the past growing up and am very familiar with their maintenance and breed characteristics. However I would like some consultation from the poodle experts!
I am a little bit hesitant about the dog (despite being in love with it) because it was used for breeding. The breeder says the dog is AKC registered but it appears to be a breeding program she is running out of her home. A very small scale operation. Plus the dog is a parti which I personally don’t mind, but I’ve heard negative comments from others that parti poodles are poorly bred / backyard bred more frequently.
As far as being a b/w parti is there any genetic concerns I should be aware of that I might need to address/ start preventative measures for such that I do adopt her?
Also when I visit this dog, does anyone have any red flags I should look out for physically as far as health and genetic indicators?
I am already aware of swaying hips and funky sitting posture as a hip displays indicator.
Also is there any red flags / risks I should be aware of regarding it being previously bred.
Thank you in advance!
