Sallie Mae Private Student Loan With U.S. Co-Signer for F-1 Visa Applicant From Pakistan?

Hi, does anyone know about Sallie Mae private education loans with a U.S. co-signer?

I am planning to apply for an F-1 visa from Pakistan, and my brother is a U.S. permanent resident (green card holder). Can I use him as a co-signer for a Sallie Mae student loan?

Also, if anyone has personal experience with the process, could you please share the typical flow? My brother’s credit score is around 600, so I’m not sure whether that would qualify or not.

I previously explored MPOWER Financing, and as far as I know, they issue a support/approval letter that can be shown to the university for the I-20 process. How does the process usually work with Sallie Mae? Do they provide a similar letter, and how is the loan disbursed?

Would really appreciate any guidance or real experiences. Thanks!

Canada Study Permit Chances After US Visa Refusals – Need Honest Advice

Hi everyone,

I’m a Full Stack Developer from Pakistan with 6+ years of professional experience. I completed my Bachelor’s in Software Engineering in 2019.

Most of my family (parents and siblings) are Green Card holders living in the USA, but unfortunately I aged out of the immigration process and couldn’t immigrate with them.

After that, I applied for both a US visit visa and later an F1 study visa last year. My genuine intention was to study further and grow professionally, but unfortunately both were refused.

Now I’m planning to apply for a Canadian study permit for a Master’s degree with a proper SOP, GIC account, financial documentation, etc.

Based on my profile, do you think I realistically have a good chance of study permit approval in Canada? If possible, I’d really appreciate an honest opinion in percentage terms as well, along with the reasons behind it.

Also, if anyone has suggestions on how I can improve my chances, I’d really appreciate the guidance.

Thanks!

Seeking Advice About Software Developer Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

Hi everyone,

I’m a Backend Laravel Developer from Pakistan with 6+ years of experience, and I’m planning to move to Saudi Arabia for work opportunities. I wanted to get some honest advice from people who already have experience in the Saudi job market, especially in tech/software development.

From what I’ve seen, there seem to be two main approaches:

  1. Apply from Pakistan through platforms like LinkedIn, Naukri Gulf, etc.

  2. Visit Saudi Arabia on a visit visa, attend interviews locally after arriving, and once i receive a job offer, proceed through the proper legal process to obtain an Iqama/work visa.

A lot of people say the second option works better because companies prefer candidates already present in the country. On the other hand, traveling without a confirmed offer also has risks and costs involved.

So I wanted to ask:

Which approach is realistically better in 2026 for a software developer?

Has anyone here successfully secured a developer job in Saudi directly from Pakistan?

If I do get an offer while staying in Pakistan, what should be the minimum acceptable salary for a Laravel/PHP backend developer with 6+ years of experience?

Is the Saudi visit visa currently open/easy for Pakistani citizens as of April 2026?

Would really appreciate guidance from people already working in Saudi Arabia or those who recently went through this process. Thanks in advance.
