Here is a re-creation of what it must have looked like when Sir Leonard Woolley’s postgrad assistant Rene Belloq found the complaint tablet in Ur sometime between 1922 and 1934. Due to his later affiliation with the German regime in 1936, Belloq’s contributions to Woolley’s expedition were expunged by the British Museum.
