Bald Head Island Logistics

We rented a house on BHI for 5 nights for us to celebrate my 40th w some close friends/fam. I am aware it’s not a crazy party spot - I love the no cars, laid back vibe and just wanna hang on the beach during the day, hit somewhere for dinner/drinks then hang at the house and play games & drink beers in the evening.

I’m looking for tips and suggestions for transporting things from the “mainland” to the island. I was there once and saw the stores are very limited so I assume we should bring as much as we can w us?

Also, parking for the ferry. We’re driving in from Charlotte, is the parking at the ferry charged daily? Free? Etc

I declined to move

I hear about it all the time but I never experienced it myself until my last flight. I was at the gate waiting to board and the gate agent called me over the PA. When I went to the desk there was another woman standing there. The gate agent said there was a family with two children traveling together and the 5yr old was assigned the middle seat next to me while her parents and sibling were elsewhere, would I be willing to switch seats.

I was traveling with my husband, and we always select aisle seats right across from one another. I really don’t care about being close to him on the flight, but I DO care about being in the aisle. I always need to use the restroom mid flight and I hate having to bother the rest of the row to get in and out.

I asked if the seat I would be switching to was also an aisle seat. She said no, middle seat. In the last row. Yeah, absolutely not.

I politely said “I’m sorry but I selected an aisle seat and would like to stay in the seat I selected”. I presume the lady who was there when I got to the desk was the mom, I could feel her shooting daggers at me with her eyes and she sighed deeply when I said no.

Part of me did feel bad but also, it’s not my fault they planned poorly (the plane was fully booked several days before the flight, I kept looking to see if seats closer to the front had opened, so it’s not likely a last minute rebooking)
