Jayan Shivanandan Nair (51), a former Army personnel, allegedly opened fire on three men: Akbar Abdul Shaikh, Abdul Hasan Shaikh, and Samir Ahmed Shaikh. Akbar is dead.

The Trigger:

Reports suggest the trio had been harassing and stalking Nair’s foster sister for days. On the day of the shooting, they allegedly sexually harassed and assaulted her after a confrontation. She called Nair in desperation.

The Reality:

If a retired soldier feels he must use a country-made revolver because the "negligent law and order" can't stop daily-wager goons from stalking a woman, the system has officially collapsed. Is "Instant Justice" the only way left in Thane?
