What all determines the form a magical girl's weapon takes and the powers they wield? I can sorta get some of them being related to the wish or the person, but sometimes it's not entirely clear.

Sometimes a healing wish grants regeneration, sometimes it's something that looks like healing but apparently isn't?

I'm just so fascinated with all this and am hoping to understand it all better.
