Issues with supporting 3D printer masters
I'm having issues with dice falling off Dicemaker fin supports. At this point I've tried way too many times always slightly adjusting something but all of the prints have failed with either the dice getting only slightly peeled off (and malformed as a result) or the dice just completely falling off the supports and getting pancaked on the fep.
Here's some changes I've tried so far:
- Adding extra medium sized supports across the dice faces
- Slowing down the lift speed
- Pre-warming the resin with a heat gun (room temp ~20C)
- Alternating dice rotations on the build plate
- Alternating dice locations on the plate (so they're not at the very center)
- Increasing fin support contact width from 0.15mm to 0.2mm
I'm using Siraya Tech fast ABS-like navy grey with Siraya Techs recommended profile for my printer.
Maybe relevant slicer settings (from my last failed run):
- Exposure time: 2.5s
- Lift distance: 3+4mm
- Lift speed: 60 & 240 mm/min
I'm at my wits end. I feel like I don't want to increase the fin support contact width further, but that seems like the only option at this point. Maybe further slowing down the lift speed might also help?
Any and all opinions welcome. Wanted to know if someone else here has faced the same problem before starting another possibly failing go.
