1967 Colt Python… sometimes the old stuff just hits different

In a lot buy I got this 1967 Colt Python .357 (4" nickel) and man… they really don’t make them like this anymore.

Finish has some honest wear, but that just tells the story. Lockup is tight, action is smooth as butter, and it still feels like a piece of craftsmanship instead of just another production gun.

Not a safe queen… and honestly, I like it that way.

Figured some of y’all would appreciate a little old-school Colt goodness 👍

Help Identifying Old Spanish Revolver – Orbea Hermanos? Early 1900s?

Hey all,

Picked up an older revolver and trying to pin down exactly what I’ve got.

Here’s what I’m seeing:

Marked “Made in Spain”

Barrel reads: “.38 S&W Special and U.S. Service CTG’s”

Has a Smith & Wesson-style “Trade Mark” logo (obviously not original S&W)

Serial number: 247872

Visible Eibar proof marks, including crown and “PN”

6-shot, fixed sights, K-frame size

No lanyard ring on the butt

From what I’ve gathered so far, it seems like a Spanish S&W-style copy—possibly Orbea Hermanos, somewhere in the 1915–1920 range.

Condition is pretty worn with a lot of patina, but everything appears intact. I haven’t fired it yet.

Questions:

Does Orbea Hermanos sound right based on these markings?

Any way to narrow down the production year?

Would you consider this safe to shoot with standard .38 Special, or better left as a display piece?

Rough value in this condition?

Appreciate any insight—this one’s got some age on it and I’d love to learn more about it.
