
Official unemployment figures for the Greenville economy were updated today. Numbers for January have been finalized and preliminary figures for February have now been made available.
January
The unemployment rate increased to 5.0% in January. 11,195 positions were added, but 14,011 workers entering the labor force caused the unemployment rate to increase. Nonfarm payrolls fell by 6,700. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
February (preliminary)
The unemployment rate remained flat at 5.0% in February. 1,689 positions were added, but 1,644 workers entering the labor force balanced out the unemployment rate. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
