I (28M) have been seeing a woman (39F) for 2 years. We work at the same company. Last week, we made solid plans to watch a movie this Thursday. I have anxiety about going out, so I pushed myself hard to plan this.
Yesterday, she told me she’s watching the same movie with a male friend instead—the same guy who she knows has romantic feelings for her. She said they had an argument and he wanted to "make it up to her" with pre-booked tickets. She told me, “It’s okay, we can still go Thursday, I’ll just watch it again.”
I told her this felt disrespectful. Her response was, “If you had told me you booked tickets, I would’ve gone with you.” When I asked if she understood why I felt disrespected, she said, “No, explain it.” After I did, she just replied, “Fair.”
Now she’s sending "I miss you" texts and telling me I have the "right to be mad," but she hasn't apologized. I’ve started pulling back—keeping replies short and stoping my daily visits to her office. I feel completely deprioritized after 2 years together.
