Four years ago it became very tempting for me to fully pivot into UX. More jobs, potential projects, better pay and so on.
Now in 2026 I totally feel the opposite. The UX space just feels very hard to navigate from the outside and I am happy I never made the switch.
My opinion: ID has always been there. A bit more niche, more nerdy. Steeper curve to fully master it, higher entry barriers.
With all the things going on. I think tangible and authentic physical product experiences will become even more relevant in a digital world.
What do you think?
