I’m going to try to be as thorough as I can because I really need to either find a doctor to listen or need to calm down.
To start, I am a 23 year old female experiencing severe fatigue, chest pain, shortness of breath, extreme rapid weight gain, beyond constipated, and pulling out clumps of hair. My weight in august 2025 was ranging between 140- 145. Today I am 183, may I add that I am only 5’ tall😭
In December I decided I was going to change my lifestyle to become healthier, lose some weight, exercise, fix my diet, sleep schedule, make sure not to eat fast food (I don’t really have a problem with fast food or pop anyway so this wasn’t too difficult). I went as far as searching foods to lower my cortisol levels.
On January 13 I had my annual GYN appointment and was concerned my IUD was causing my symptoms, so immediately she took it out and preformed bloodwork. My TSH was 2.341 and T4 free: 0.7. The next week (Jan 21) I went for more blood tests; TSH: 2.856, T4 free: 0.88. Since she is my GYN she could not use medication since my results are technically “normal”.
Fast forward, I met my new PCP (I actually didn’t have one prior to this apt) in march (16th) and we discussed my symptoms, did bloodwork, and told me to diet and exercise and we will talk in 6 weeks to see how I am doing. My Vit D 25 Hydroxy came back at 17, cholesterol: 229, HDL: 102, triglycerides: 168, and TSH: 5.006. So she prescribed me 50,000 units Vit D once a week, which I usually feel okay the first couple days and go right back to napping after the 3rd day.
6 weeks go by, its now April (23rd) she said my cholesterol is too high for my age and I need to diet and exercise (at this point I literally can not physically handle anymore working out or dieting). I have taken out basically every single food I enjoy, I exercise at least 2 hours a day, I walk, and I try to play with my kids but I feel so bad all of the time and I tried so hard to explain this to her because I'm desperate to feel just okay. Anyway, my TSH: 2.59, T4 free: 0.74, T3 free: was 163. So she just wants to see me in 6 months.
Do I just need to wait it out and see if I miraculouly feel better? find a new doc? I'm so frustrated and need help
