Do Subaru boxer engines get a bad rap?
I bought a used 2015 Forester Premium with 152,000 miles last November.
It's now May and it hasn't used a drop of oil in almost 6 months. Not a drop, except what I'm wiping off of the dipstick. I've seen every video on the correct way to check the level and do it weekly. It hasn't moved a hair off of the full mark in all that time.
Is this weird? I've never had a car do this and I've owned VWs, Nissans and Toyotas. They all at least used a bit of oil in that time. Are these engines actually a lot better than the many problems reported with head gaskets and solenoids would lead you to believe?
