I'm currently on a play through with a friend, he's playing melee so I'm playing ranger. We've made it up to skeletron and I'm starting to think I should switch to rogue, mage, or summoner. Purely because the weapons aren't that fun and it doesn't feel intended for the calamity experience. So which should I switch to? I see lots saying summoner is really good, but I'm not really looking for amazing dps or whatever I just want it to feel right (like melee does). Also I want it to be fun, which ranger is failing to have

I've done some research and it seems to be pretty much divided 50/50 on whether to start the dlc mid game or after completing the game. I read the dlc gives you another ending and I'm unsure of how different it is. I feel it I complete it without the dlc id enjoy the ending but then I'll know I'm missing out on another ending. So I'd play the dlc afterwards but I feel as if that's gonna take too long or the ending won't feel as impactful once having to replay it. What should I start with?
