ive been trying to find a new therapist, since my last one cant continue care with me. one of the things i want to focus on is my dissociation, and i want to know if its disordered. well, i had a 10-20 minute consult with a therapist recently who specializes in dissociative disorders. she immediately said that must be what im dealing with, and that she has this god-given gift with DID and that shes never even researched it. overall it just felt very unprofessional... while i do want a therapist who will recognize my plurality, i dont think its right to just immediately say i have DID without any background, lol.. im back to my search ig !
