Hi all,
I have been reading up on this subreddit for the last hour or so as I have an in-person meeting with my prospective DM tomorrow regarding starting employment here as a Store Manager. This is significant to me, as my previous experience capped out at the department manager level for some big box stores, so just having the SM title would mean a lot as far as career advancement.
My question is pretty straightforward: what is it like working here? How are the DMs? Should I expect any sort of curveballs on my interview?
My understanding as of now is that people generally aren’t happy with their stores management team, which is pretty much par for the course in retail, so I’m more looking for answers as to what the work itself is like.
Any input is appreciated, even if it’s not glamorous.
