Seeing all the Team Showcase posts inspired me to try and come up with a fun theme too. I always liked Stone evolution Pokémon so I thought this would be a fun one. To note, I repeated the leaf stone since I only wanted gen 1 Pokémon and felt that the Sun Stone for Bellossom was also redundant since I had Vileplume already. I went with Exeggutor for the Psychic coverage, which was obviously helpful. I hadn’t played Fire Red since 2005, so it was very nostalgic to play on the Switch version. I played the original Red and Blue in elementary school and my last games were HGSS, so it’s been a while.
This team mostly pulled their weight, although Nidoking was underwhelming. Here’s the breakdown of the team:
Arcanine (Spliff) - arguably my favorite Pokémon of any gen, I love the almost-legendary dog. Hits hard and who doesn’t love using Extremespeed?

Raichu (Blount) - key player, had never really used him in past runs since I usually favored Jolteon as my preferred electric type but he was great!

Vaporeon (Vape) - probably team MVP, such a tank. Almost single-handedly took out Lance’s whole team. I never played Vaporeon before and had a ton of fun using them.

Exeggutor (Pot Head) - very important, another mon I never really used in the past. Had lots of fun using Chlorophyll + Solar Beam.

Vileplume (Shroom) - main role was using Sunny Day (I used the TM on him during the first E4 run). But that was key for using Exeggutor. Also was key in stopping Tyranitar’s stupid sandstorm lol.

Nidoking (Keef) - definitely the most underwhelming, great for earlier game play though. Gets some bonus points for being the only shiny I’ve ever caught (safari zone when looking for that damn Lucky Egg holding Chansey, which I gave up on after catching 11 of them with no luck)

Overall lots of fun and pretty effective on the rematch. Love the nostalgia and hope you all are enjoying it too!
