WYR: TORTURE EDITION. Would you rather be tied down on top of a large fire ant bed, or be tied to a tree containing a large wasp nest? (30 minute duration)
Fire ant bed/mound is 2 feet in diameter and 6 inches tall, giving an idea of colony size based on how much dirt has been removed by tunnel construction. You are tied to stakes face up, with arms and legs outstretched, wearing only shorts and a t-shirt. The mere act of laying on the mound is sufficient to agitate the ants.
Wasp nest is the size of a basketball and hangs on a branch that's 10 feet off the ground. You are tied around the tree without use of your limbs, wearing the same clothes. The wasps are then agitated by someone using a chainsaw to make a partial cut in their branch.
After 30 minutes you are immediately untied and have all insects and stingers removed, with access to basic over-the-counter allergy meds and topical ointments.
