$5k debt with no real address to serve
I’m continually telling my husband to take deposits. He continually ignores me. Now we have a $5k debt from a customer who 1) doesn’t own the property and 2) has given him only her email and phone number.
Trying to recover this via a debt collection agency is going to be difficult because I’m not even sure the name we have is her real name let alone the possibility of obtaining an address to serve documents. Her name on socials is similar but spelt differently.
I did a title search and the property she engaged works on is not owned by her. She has a website and the phone number is registered to a “CBD SHORT STAY APARTMENTS” so good luck with that because there are lots of businesses are called that in Melbourne. We know she lives in Melbourne.
The email address doesn’t bounce back. She reads our messages as indicated by iPhone.
She keeps saying she’ll pay $1500 tomorrow which is all fluff.
How do I get more information to serve her paperwork for magistrates court? Tried ABN searches and title searches.
Would appreciate any help!
