Folks, I'm about at the end of my rope with my jointer. I've had this issue for years and can't seem to resolve it. I try, it doesn't work, and I let it sit unused for a few months until I try again. Rinse and repeat.

As you can see from the photo, one of the ends of the board keeps getting narrower and narrower as I feed it through the jointer. Which, I guess, would be fine if it meant my board was nice and flat but it's not.

I've tried following the instructions to recalibrate everything. I have followed katz-Moses YouTube tutorial plus lots more, I have read up here on reddit and innumerable Internet searches.

What gives??

EDIT: Thanks for your responses. I need to clarify: I absolutely know the difference between a planer and jointer. I've been using both for 6 years. (Although I haven't used my jointer because, per my gripe, it never works as a jointer should.)

My complaint is that it ISN'T making a flat face. Instead, it's eating away the board until it's like a huge shim. If I keep going, it just keep eating way one end until it's extremely thin. On top of that it's still not flat.

Hi folks, I'm making a top out of this material. Wondering if any of you have ideas on how best to approach sewing it? There's very little structure to it. Thanks for any tips y'all might have!
