Pinching

I’m so new to dahlias, excuse my ignorance. Everyone is so kind in the thread, so I’m going to ask another, possibly silly question.

Is it too late to pinch these? If not too late, where? (I haven’t planted them yet bc last night it got down to 43. I’ve been hardening them off the last few days, taking them in at night. Plan to the rest of the week after work and this weekend.)

I think this is a Black Satin and Bloomquist York? I’m bad at labeling. ADHD. I figure I’ll find out when they bloom. 🤷‍♀️

Liberty Snapdragon help

I am a total newb, so please excuse my ignorance but I bought this tray of liberty snapdragons at a local nursery because I love snaps and my indoor seeds performed poorly. They were already leaning over a lot when I got them. I’ve staked some of them—I’ll dead once the blooms die. Should I cut way down and hope it acts like a pinch? Each plant has only one spike. Or when I cut is it done for?

Identification?

Can anyone tell me what this rose is? I bought it many years ago and it’s always done ok, but I finally have time to garden and pay attention to it. It seems to be thriving, but I’m seeing some bug issues (usually it’s plagued and never blooms much) so I’ll need to try and remedy that.

It only gets about 5 hours of morning sun a day on the east side of my house and is looking like this, if that helps?

Opinions: I’m in zone 6b. I randomly planted some ranunculus corms both in the fall and early spring. Multiple people have told me they never have had luck with them and kind of discouraged me to try, so that is why I did it. Lol.

Anyway, they did sprout, but so far just green. The weather has been so totally wacky this spring. Highs in the 80s in March, then freeze warnings last week. Do you think I’ll get a bloom?

ETA: Thanks for all your replies! It seems like they are as temperamental as people led me to believe, ha. I’ll be happy if I get a bloom, but I’m not expecting it at this point. This morning the low was 49, but high is 80. I think the weather has been too odd this year. But I learned some things for next year, unless the weather thwarts me again.
