What is the history of "Vibrations" as a descriptor of the supernatural?

To me, the term "Vibrations" used to describe emotional or psychic effects seems to be an essentially 60's- 70's phrase, with the prime example being the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations (1966). I seem to recall from a 70's childhood that it was a standard term for "psychic" or "emotional" characters on TV.

Watching "Kelly's Heroes" (1970) the use in the 1945 setting seemed anachronistic, but I just spotted a use in "The importance of being Earnest" which pushes it back to 1895.

So, for how long have english-speakers talked about good or bad "Vibrations" and has the meaning shifted? I smell Theosophy, but that may be a red herring.

Akira available in Australia or not?

I have a Crunchyroll subscription, which I watch on my Apple TV but the subscription is not via Apple.

According to the Apple TV search, Akira is available on Crunchyroll, but in my account it isn't there.

Does this mean that I have to get a subscription through Apple in order to see Akira, or is there just some other issue?

Thanks
