Poop? Worm? Mulm? Brown algae?

Poop? Worm? Mulm? Brown algae?

Tank has been accumulating a fine layer of brown on every surface. Today, it looked like this. It reminded me of when I had a few surprise bladder snails and woke up to something similar looking (which turned out to be their poop) on all my plants and surfaces. There are some of this worm-poop-algae-mulms on the walls of the tank as well, pointing pretty much straight up and down. Which makes sense with the flow of the water. I'm thinking all that algae just rolled up into these little chains?

I've got 5 blue dream shrimp in the mail, and I'm hoping they are STARVING. Those boys better be ready to get to WORK. Just kidding, I'm just concerned about the tank and their wellbeing.

5 week old tank with plants only (I committed a bladder snail genocide)!

0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 20 nitrates, 78 degrees and 5.5 gallons

I don't care about influencers, or LA culture through the eyes of Sam Levinson. The entire scene with Cassie at the party was just boring. This whole show is now just about women's bodies being commodified. It honestly just feels like the Idol, where Sam Levinson thinks the world he lives in is so interesting he made a show about it. The past seasons where more "mundane," interpersonal conflicts that were showcased in a highly dramatized fashion. It made it relatable even though it was over the top. Seeing Cassie run around that party made me want to turn it off. Personally I haven't been on instagram or twitter or tiktok in several years because influencer culture just makes me sick. Cassie's objective is to get in this guys video? I literally do not care. This is such a not real conflict, I have no interest in it.

I understand this is a niche issue and I can just not watch. I wasn't planning on watching season 3 at all but unfortunately Sam Levinson did succceed in making me care about Rue, Jules, and Maddy and I'm interested to see their lives play out. The only saving grace of this influencer story line is that Maddy is involved. Either way, LA and its weird influencer culture can stay far away from me.

Little 5 gal pretty moderately planted. 4 weeks old today! I only have plants and little white buggy guys. And a lot of algae. I have Dr. Tim's ammonia on the way to do an ammonia challenge. I'm dying to drop some skrimps and maybe a betta. Any feedback is appreciated.
