I mean for a start I can’t pick a main, and of the two that are closest to being a main I get fucking Link and Young Link cause I love Zelda and are used to the move set, so already I feel scummy for playing the characters I’m most used to. After that I like Ganon. No need to elaborate. I like captain falcon but I get raped by quickplay every time I so much as look at his character slot. Wario is my GOAT absolute goon but I’m even worse still at him. The Pits are great except I hit like a disabled grandmother & move in the air like honey so instead of getting raped on the ground I get raped in the air instead, at half the pace. Cloud actually works, like I do well with him and enjoy him, but he’s so OP it’s playing on easy mode and I don’t know anything about FF, and I want my main to be from a series I vaguely have some knowledge of at least, so I feel even scummier playing him than the Links. Shulk is cool except I don’t have the reaction time to cycle through that fuckass menu or think which is best for a situation that changes each frame, and I know fuck all about Xenoblade. Roy has the same problems for me as Cloud except I’m bad at Roy somehow, I didn’t even know that was possible.
The problem is (apart from total lack of ability to decide) that no matter what character I play there’s always a glaring fault that makes me either hate playing as the character or feel bad for playing as the character in certain situations, and I don’t have the motivation to learn/get better unless I pick a main for some reason. I mean with my best character Link I’m only at like 11 mil GSP and I feel like half of that is from playing campy or bullshitting, so it doesn’t even count to me.
Genuinely have no idea how to decide and I’m this close to quitting the game because of it
