For context my parents are Gen X my dad has been trucking for 30+ years and swears on his life that it’s still a good option to work toward but I don’t like the lifestyle it comes with just because I’m single and have no dependents. My mother (bless her heart) understands me to a degree but she keeps saying oh just keep applying to the same damn place eventually they’ll see you for taking the initiative and they’ll also see you WANTING to work for them! Like okay go figure plenty of people have tried that and still unemployed. I told them about the situation regarding the job market in 2026 I’ve mentioned AI as well and they still don’t have a clue. I’m at my wits end because they won’t stop and listen to me because my gen is living IT NOT THEM. Yeahh just hand in your resume to what ever place you want to apply to and shake the managers hand! Pfft..
