Hello, I've had an Apple TV 4k gen 3 for about 3 weeks, and a couple of days ago I noticed an issue while watching content on Amazon Prime. Sometimes I get audio cut outs for a very short time, like half a second, and my soundbar switches from Dolby Atmos to Multichannel PCM. I instantly notice the difference in sound (PCM is louder), but the cut out is more annoying, if it happens while someone is talking then I can't hear a word or two and I have to rewind, it completely ruins immersion. The content then stays in PCM for a while, and a couple minutes later it goes back to Atmos and the same cut out happens. If a cut out happens and I turn off the show and turn it on again instantly, then it will come back in Dolby Atmos, and for a while it will be fine.
I haven't noticed this issue on any other streaming platform, only on Amazon Prime.
My setup is:
- TV: TCL C765 65 inch (in my country the model is called MQLED85)
- Soundbar: JBL Bar 1000
- Apple TV 4K gen 3
Soundbar is connected to the TV via eARC and Apple TV is connected to the soundbar, both with high quality HDMI cables, I tried switching them to a cable that I'm using on my PC, which I know is good, and the issue persists. I don't remember having this problem using my TV built in OS, so I'm guessing it's something to do with the Apple TV, but I can't figure out what. Does anyone have an idea what it might be? I'd appreciate it.
