I spoke to my doctor and we decided to swap me from lexapro to Zoloft. I’ve been on lexapro for a few years, but I don’t think it’s working as well anymore. Anyway, my doctor told me to cross taper the meds, take half of my 20mg lexapro and half of the 50mg Zoloft for about two weeks and then go to the full Zoloft while stopping the lexapro. The issue is I’ve been doing this for 2 days, and both days I’ve gotten migraines. Like full blown, aura, vomiting, in bed for hours, migraines. I do get migraines but I hadn’t had one for a month and before that it was a few months, and now I’ve had 2. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I try just tapering off lexapro and then starting the Zoloft? Is Zoloft maybe just not for me?
(I will mention that when I got the meds from the pharmacist, I told him what the doctor told me to do with cross tapering and he said I shouldn’t do that and said to taper off lexapro then start Zoloft, but I was worried if I did that I would get anxiety and stuff from having only a small amount of an SSRI.)
