Help needed - Insane flickering on Linux Mint 22.3

I use Zen Browser on my work mac, so I decided to install it on my personal Linux mint laptop. Except that it's unusable with the crazy flickering happening all over the place. At the beginning it was limited to the tab bar at the left, now it's all the software that is flickering like in this screen capture :

Having issues copying files into USB hard drives

Hi everyone,

I noticed an issue when I tried to copy files into my USB drive. It was a large video file so I waited till the progress bar tell me it finished, I right clicked at the USB icon on the desktop => Eject, then removed the drive.

When I connected it back again, the files weren't there at all. So I tried again but the issue persisted. I thought that the drive was bricked so I tried with to other USB sticks and the issue was the same.

Then I decided to copy the files again but let it there long time after it finished copying. And this time the copying finished!

So looks like the the progress bar is telling me that the copying finished before it actually did. It's important to note that the USB drives are formated in ExFat so I can use it between mac, windows and Linux.

Any help would be appreciated 🙏

So I recently got myself a small Focusrite Scarlett interface to use when I'm on the move instead of my home studio gear and I was interested to see how it performs one different platforms. For my case, I use a mac for work since I'm still dependent on orchestral libraries (NI, Spitfire, EastWest...), but for personal stuff I started using more and more Linux; I dual boot my old laptop with Linux mint and Windows 11 (with mint being the main one) and I started spending more time doing music stuff with it.

At the beginning, I was expecting to have worse latency on Linux since I thought that it wouldn't have drivers developed specifically for the OS unlike ASIO for Windows. But to my surprise the performance what much closer to what I experienced with my mac with a rather large difference in comparison with Windows!

I know that the latency estimation from the DAW isn't that accurate, but I think that it reflects well how the performance actually differs when changing interfaces/drivers.

Probably everyone else in this subreddit is familiar with it, but I just discovered this great website : https://linuxaudio.dev/

I think that these people are doing the best thing in order to render Linux a much more attractive platform to audio software development and I believe that this is crucial for the accessibility of music and audio production on Linux.

I'll use their support email template to add one more request to Native Instrument so one day they might bring Kontakt to Linux (hopefully).

Edit:

Amadeus Paulussen is the person behind the initiative; great ressources for us who are curious and motivated about doing more serious stuff with music production in Linux.
