First time with resin, two prints, two failures

So I’ve just got an elegiac mars 4 ultra for my birthday, using elegoo abs like 3.0+. I’ve read that putting supports on and canting the model at a 45 degree angle was a good idea.
I know this is a stupid way of saying it, but if someone could explain like I’m 5 what’s happening and how to fix it?

The model with the support acne is the mk1 and the one with a larger gash is the mk 2
