Background:
Bought a house over the winter and now that the snow has melted away, I found insulation material scattered around the pool. I think probably squirrels got inside through the vent openings (found likely to be chew marks) and made a mess inside. At the same time I found plenty of ants around and inside the pool, (a bunch floating in the water) and they may have made the pool their home during the winter as well.
The pool was left running the whole winter, maintaining the temperature and doing intermittent pumping action. It seems to still function fine.
Questions:
I believe this is a Hydropool Titanium from 2006-2009? Not sure if anyone might be able to identify, as the previous did not leave me with any information/manual. I was only able to find model numbers for the pump and etc.
In terms of maintenance and prevention, how much would it cost in general to fix this up, new insulation, seal it off etc? I've never owned a hot tub before.
What's the 2nd hand market for pools like this? I was told by a pool maintenance shop that removing the pool is about $500. If I don't want to deal with animal infestation and maintenance very few years. Maybe I'll get rid of it on Facebook Marketplace, though I'll probably still want to clean it up a bit first.
Thanks all!
