My daughter is in college and she’s beautiful. She goes away to school about 90 miles away. I am
Constantly telling her to brush her teeth properly (as she always has plaque on the gum line), reminding her to wear her retainer (she forgets and now she has a tooth out of line and complains that the retainer hurts), she is 20 years old. She comes home and her hair has a giant knot in it the size of Texas and she doesn’t wash her hair properly no matter how much I tell her. I am
Always telling her to blow dry it and spent a ton of money to get her the best blow dryer for faster drying but still doesn’t. Her earrings haven’t come out in such a long time that she has had skin grow over the piercing causing pain and infection. I honestly don’t know what to do without sounding like a nag. She’s gonna hate me if I keep making comments, but she’s killing me. She isn’t taking care of herself at all. I am afraid that no when is going to take her seriously if she continues like this and no one will want to be around her. It’s worrisome and I feel like I have failed as a parent and if that isn’t enough, the way she keeps her car and her dorm room is just another level of mess I don’t have time to get into. Meanwhile my younger daughter is very aware of her hygiene and does a damn good job taking care of herself. I am so frustrated.
