Hi everybody! I hope you're all well.
So I'm currently 20 years old, and I've been looking to buy a 2019 440i GC M Sport, however, I'm not expereienced with BMW's at all. This - https://www.autotrader.co.za/car-for-sale/bmw/4-series/440i/27570992?vf=14&db=1&s360=0&so=1&pl=0&pr=5&po=1&pq=0&sp=3 - is the specific car I am Looking at at the moment, and I love the interior, maybe the paint not so much but I can always change it later if needed. My main concern is obviously internal errors or faults. Im from South Africa, and this is especially quite an expensive purchase for someone my age, however I do have the financial resources to do so. I need advice concerning anything I need to look out for before I go and check it out in person, and I will also search up the VIN number as well before I go. Many people have told me to get a PPI, which I also think is a good idea, but my parents, who can assist in the purchasing of this car, are concerned about the internal faults as well, especially regarding potential past accidents and poor fixes.
Can you please advise me on any extras regarding the following:
- A good purchase in terms of 5-6 years of longevity until i get properly employed
- What to ask and what to look out for
- Whether I should rather look at a better performing car in the price range or less than that of the 440i.
I will add that, I will only and purely use it as a daily driver, I might make some modificatiosn later, but only in terms of a possibel sound system, as I am already happy with the car's specs.
I also only drive about 10-20K Kilimetres every 2 years, but I have started to drive more often thus resulting in the present case.
Thank you.
