Anyone else hate that they got spoiled & now can't find what they want to be happy?
Been a Mac guy since my first Performa 475 back in the day. My ex was adamant she needed a PC for Wordperfect (LOL) so we ended up duplicating & getting a 486DX266 to go along side my Mac.
I got into gaming, got the first 3d accelerator & I have been confused ever since. I ended up buying a Performa 640 with the 486 daughter card then started building my own PCs. Ended up working for one of the biggest PC manufacturers but always loved my Mac (except for gaming)
Got to a point where I tried a 2011 iMac with an external Mac display, various laptops over the years, various tablets, various 1st tier gaming PCs & homebuilt but always kept a Mac
Now in my late 50s I pretty much only do MMORPGs& if they play on Mac I will play them but if not? eh ill pass
Why am I saying all this? I personally can't see the big difference with the Retina display (old eyes) but I can very easily see stuttering in games. When I was going to sell my gaming PC I ended up trading for an M1 iMac just to see if I still care for the form factor. I LOVE almost everything about it (except the keyboard & mouse are Lightning) & fps its barely ok in my main game (WoW). I have an M4 mini with a 144 MHz 1080p that is perfect for WoW - so smooth.
Bad part? I love the iMac with 1 cable. It's just so clean. I HATE cables. But I will use a wired mouse just so mouse looks don't skip
I just want an iMac with 120mhz refresh! I came from a 32" & 27" & realized I can live with a 24". I can live with 1080p. I just need a 1 cable solution @ 120 / 144 or faster refresh!
