Longterm library security?
Hey I’m seeing horror stories of people’s kindles suddenly updating and undoing their jailbreak and losing access to koreader. Then I see people saying “well that’s why you gotta make sure you do the hotfix correctly.” And I’m like, okay, cool, I ran the hotfix when I jailbroke my kindle. But then I go onto kindle forge and see HotfixUpdater, and I asked about it on the koreader sub and people are like “well yeah of course you gotta update the hotfix maybe, probably. Otherwise you could maybe potentially most likely lose your jailbreak at possibly any time.”
Somebody eli5 and breakdown everything I actually need to do to make sure I don’t lose my library. How often do I need to update KoReader? How often do I need to update the hotfix with HotfixUpdater? Is there anything else I need to be keeping up with? My kindle is always connected to wifi bc I’m frequently translating text. Sometimes I put the kindle down and don’t touch it for months at a time. Are these risk factors? What’s the full straight dope on all possible points of failure and failure prevention?
Thanks in advance!<3
